Clearly erroneous test

A standard of review applied by appellate courts to factual findings made by lower courts or administrative agencies. Under this standard, an appellate court will only overturn a factual finding if it is left with a definite and firm conviction that a mistake has been committed. This test gives substantial deference to the trial court's assessment of evidence and witness credibility.
