Complete integration

Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-001128

A written agreement that the parties intended as the final and complete statement of every term of their deal. Under the parol evidence rule, evidence of prior or contemporaneous agreements cannot add to or contradict a completely integrated writing, and a merger clause is common evidence of that intent. A partial integration is final only as to the terms it covers, so consistent additional terms may still be proved.
