Complex trust

A type of trust that is not required to distribute all of its income annually to its beneficiaries. It may accumulate income, distribute principal, or make distributions to charitable organizations. Unlike a simple trust, a complex trust is subject to more intricate tax rules and reporting requirements under the Internal Revenue Code.
