Dispositive fact

A fact that, when proven, determines the outcome of a legal case or a specific issue within it, rendering other facts irrelevant to the final judgment. Such a fact directly establishes or refutes a claim or defense. For instance, in a contract dispute, proof of a valid offer and acceptance can be a dispositive fact.
