Right to work state

A state that has enacted laws prohibiting agreements between employers and labor unions that require employees to join a union or pay union dues or fees as a condition of employment. These laws aim to protect an individual's right to work without being compelled to join a union. As of 2023, 27 U.S. states have right-to-work laws.
