Yellow dog contract

An employment agreement where a worker promises not to join a labor union or to quit a union if already a member, as a condition of employment. This type of contract historically aimed to prevent unionization and collective bargaining within workplaces. Such agreements were largely outlawed in the United States by the Norris-LaGuardia Act of 1932.
