Acoustic pressure

The local deviation from the ambient atmospheric pressure caused by the passage of a sound wave. It represents the fluctuating component of pressure associated with sound propagation. Acoustic pressure is typically measured in pascals (Pa) and is the primary quantity detected by microphones and other acoustic sensors.
