Ammonia

A colorless, alkaline gas (NH3) composed of nitrogen and hydrogen, present in the atmosphere in trace amounts. It is a primary atmospheric pollutant originating from agricultural activities, such as fertilizer application and animal waste, as well as from industrial processes and biomass burning. In the atmosphere, ammonia neutralizes acidic compounds like sulfuric and nitric acid to form ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate aerosols.
