Ammonium nitrate

A chemical compound with the formula NH4NO3, formed in the atmosphere from the reaction of ammonia with nitric acid. It exists as a solid particulate in cooler, drier conditions and as an aqueous solution in more humid environments. This compound is a major constituent of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and contributes to haze and reduced visibility.
