Capillary collector

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004138

A device that uses capillary action to gather samples of atmospheric liquid water, such as cloud droplets, fog, or fine precipitation. The design often involves a mesh or a series of fine tubes where surface tension forces draw in and retain the water. These collectors are used in cloud physics and atmospheric chemistry research to analyze the composition of hydrometeors.
