Electrojets
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005317
Narrow, intense currents of electric charge flowing in the ionosphere, primarily at altitudes between 90 and 150 kilometers. These currents are driven by electric fields and the movement of charged particles in the Earth's magnetic field. The auroral electrojet and the equatorial electrojet are two prominent examples, influencing geomagnetic variations.
