Frequency distribution

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005780

A statistical summary that shows how many times each value in a set of observations occurs. In climatology, it is used to analyze historical weather data, such as the number of days per year a location experiences temperatures above 30°C or receives a certain amount of rainfall. The results are presented in tables or graphs like histograms and frequency polygons to reveal the underlying probability distribution of the variable.
