Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005924

A model of light propagation that treats light as rays traveling in straight lines, neglecting its wave nature. It describes phenomena such as reflection and refraction using simple geometric principles. This approximation is valid when the wavelength of light is much smaller than the objects it interacts with.
