Ghibli

A hot, dry, southerly or southeasterly wind that occurs in Libya, originating over the Sahara Desert. This wind carries large quantities of sand and dust, which can drastically reduce visibility and create oppressive, hazy conditions. The ghibli is the Libyan name for the sirocco wind, and it can cause temperatures to rise sharply, sometimes exceeding 40 to 50 degrees Celsius, while humidity drops to very low levels.
