Gibbs function
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005965
A thermodynamic potential, also known as Gibbs free energy, that measures the maximum reversible work that can be performed by a thermodynamic system at constant temperature and pressure. In atmospheric science, it is used to analyze phase changes of water and chemical reactions in the atmosphere. The change in Gibbs function determines the spontaneity of a process under these conditions.
