Green's function
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006065
A mathematical tool used to solve inhomogeneous linear differential equations, particularly those arising in atmospheric and oceanic modeling. It represents the response of a system to an impulse or point source perturbation. By integrating the Green's function with the forcing term, the solution to the full inhomogeneous equation can be constructed.
