Greenland Sea Deep Water

A cold, dense water mass formed in the Greenland Sea through intense cooling and convection, which then sinks and flows southward. It is a component of the North Atlantic Deep Water and contributes to the global thermohaline circulation. This water mass has temperatures near 0 degrees Celsius and salinities around 34.9 practical salinity units.
