Ionospheric radar
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006653
A type of radar system specifically designed to study the ionosphere by transmitting radio waves and analyzing their reflections. These systems measure parameters such as electron density, ion velocity, and temperature within the ionospheric layers. Examples include incoherent scatter radars, which operate at frequencies typically above 50 MHz.
