Perturbation technique

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007880

A mathematical method used to approximate solutions to complex differential equations by considering small deviations from a simpler, known solution. In atmospheric science, it involves linearizing the governing equations around a basic state to analyze the behavior of small disturbances. This technique is widely applied in studying atmospheric waves and instabilities.
