Radio atmometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008317
An instrument designed to measure the rate of evaporation from a continuously wetted surface, integrating the effects of solar radiation, air temperature, humidity, and wind. It consists of a porous, water-filled sphere or plate, which is exposed to the atmosphere, connected to a reservoir that measures water loss over time. The Piche atmometer, using a wetted filter paper disc, is a specific type of this instrument.
