Recombination coefficient

A quantitative measure of the rate at which positive ions and electrons or negative ions recombine in a gas, such as the Earth's atmosphere. It represents the probability of a recombination event occurring per unit time per unit volume. This coefficient varies with atmospheric composition, temperature, and pressure.
