Wire-weight gauge
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010292
A simple instrument used to measure the depth of water in a well or stream. It consists of a weighted line or tape that is lowered until it touches the water surface, and the length of the submerged line is then read from a scale. This gauge provides a direct measurement of water level, often used in hydrological monitoring.
