Antifoam agent
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000146
A chemical substance added to drilling fluids to suppress the formation of foam or to destabilize existing foam. Foam can cause issues with mud pump efficiency, accurate density measurements, and overall fluid performance. These agents work by reducing the surface tension of the liquid, causing air bubbles to rupture and preventing their accumulation.
