Axial loading
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000229
The force applied along the longitudinal axis of a tubular component, such as casing or tubing, either in tension or compression. This loading can result from the weight of the pipe string, thermal expansion or contraction, and pressure differentials. Proper design considers axial loads to prevent buckling or parting of the tubulars.
