Biphasic

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000355

Describing a fluid system composed of two distinct phases, such as oil and water, gas and liquid, or two immiscible liquids. In production logging, understanding biphasic flow behavior is necessary to accurately interpret measurements of fluid velocities and holdups. This condition is common in hydrocarbon reservoirs where oil, gas, and water coexist and flow simultaneously.
