Breakout tongs

Large, heavy-duty wrenches used to apply torque to drill pipe, casing, or tubing connections to loosen them for disassembly. They consist of a handle and a jaw that grips the pipe, often operated in conjunction with a cathead or power tongs. These tools are designed to withstand the high forces required to break the friction and seal of threaded connections.
