Burn shoe

A specialized cutting tool with an abrasive or hardened edge, attached to the bottom of a washpipe or casing string. It grinds away obstructions or damaged sections within a wellbore, allowing for deeper penetration or removal of stuck pipe. The burn shoe is rotated and lowered, effectively milling through the impediment.
