Combi BOP
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000757
A coiled tubing blowout preventer in which each ram pair combines two functions, so two sets of rams do the work of four. One pair typically blinds and shears the tubing, and the other holds and seals around it. The result is a shorter, lighter stack than a quad BOP, which uses a separate ram for each of the blind, shear, slip and pipe functions.
