Crosswell electromagnetic tomography
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000908
A geophysical imaging technique that uses electromagnetic waves transmitted between wells to map subsurface resistivity variations. A transmitter in one well emits electromagnetic energy, and receivers in adjacent wells detect the attenuated and phase-shifted signals. This method provides high-resolution images of fluid saturation changes, such as those caused by waterflooding or steam injection, between boreholes.
