Crosswell seismic tomography
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000910
A geophysical imaging technique that uses seismic waves transmitted between boreholes to create high-resolution images of the subsurface. A seismic source in one well generates waves, and receivers in an adjacent well record the arrival times and amplitudes of these waves. This method provides detailed velocity and attenuation models of the interwell region, which are used to characterize reservoir properties such as porosity and fluid saturation.
