Interwell tomography
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002024
A geophysical technique that uses seismic or electromagnetic waves transmitted between boreholes to create a detailed image of the reservoir properties between them. By measuring the travel times or amplitudes of waves passing through the interwell region, variations in velocity or attenuation can be mapped. This method provides higher resolution than surface seismic data for reservoir characterization.
