Stoneley permeability
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003629
A permeability estimate derived from the attenuation of Stoneley waves, which are low-frequency acoustic waves that propagate along the borehole wall. The attenuation of these waves is sensitive to fluid movement into and out of the formation. This method provides a measure of permeability in the near-borehole region, particularly in fractured formations.
