Endfire array
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001302
A layout of transmitting and receiving antennas in an electromagnetic propagation tool in which each antenna's axis is aligned with the borehole axis instead of lying across it. This is the geometry of the EPT-G tool, which measures the formation dielectric constant and attenuation at about 1 GHz. It contrasts with the broadside arrangement of the original propagation tool, whose antennas are oriented across the tool.
