Geochemical log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001664
A well log that provides elemental concentrations of the formation, typically derived from the spectral analysis of gamma rays emitted by the formation after neutron bombardment. These logs measure elements such as silicon, calcium, iron, sulfur, and potassium. Geochemical logs are used to determine mineralogy, identify lithology, and estimate clay content more accurately than conventional logs.
