Activation log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004217
A well logging technique that measures the induced radioactivity in formation minerals after neutron bombardment. Neutrons from a logging tool activate certain elements in the rock, which then emit gamma rays as they decay. This log provides information about the elemental composition of the formation, such as the presence of aluminum, silicon, or chlorine.
