Isomerized olefin
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002049
A type of synthetic base oil derived from olefins that have undergone an isomerization process to alter their molecular structure. These compounds are used in non-aqueous drilling fluids as an alternative to diesel or mineral oils. Isomerized olefins offer improved environmental performance, including lower toxicity and enhanced biodegradability.
