Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002085
A type of topography and geology formed from the dissolution of soluble rocks such as limestone, dolomite, and gypsum. It is characterized by underground drainage systems with sinkholes, caves, and conduits. This process creates extensive secondary porosity and permeability in carbonate formations, forming highly productive, but complex and heterogeneous, hydrocarbon reservoirs.
