Vug

A relatively large, irregular cavity within a rock, often lined with mineral crystals, formed by the dissolution of soluble minerals or by incomplete filling during crystallization. Vugs are common in carbonate rocks and can significantly contribute to the porosity of a reservoir. However, their contribution to permeability depends on their interconnectedness.
