Leakoff test
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002142
A pressure test conducted after cementing a casing string to determine the fracture pressure of the formation just below the casing shoe. It establishes the maximum mud weight and surface pressure the formation can withstand without fracturing. The test involves closing the blowout preventers and pumping fluid into the wellbore, with the point where the pressure plot deviates from a straight line indicating the leakoff pressure.
