Low-pressure, low-temperature filtration test
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002228
A standard laboratory procedure to measure the static fluid loss and filter cake thickness of a drilling fluid under ambient conditions. A mud sample is placed in a filter press and subjected to a differential pressure of 100 psi for 30 minutes at room temperature. The volume of filtrate collected and the thickness of the filter cake are recorded according to API Recommended Practice 13B-1.
