Makeup gas

Additional gas introduced into a system or process to maintain a desired pressure, volume, or composition. This gas compensates for losses due to consumption, leakage, or changes in operating conditions. In gas lift operations, makeup gas supplements the produced gas to maintain the required injection rate for artificial lift.
