Methyl orange alkalinity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002340
A measure of the total alkalinity in a drilling fluid, determined by titration with a strong acid to the methyl orange endpoint. This value represents the concentration of all alkaline substances, including hydroxides, carbonates, and bicarbonates. It is reported as milliliters of acid per milliliter of mud filtrate (mL/mL) or as parts per million (ppm) calcium carbonate equivalent.
