Mist flow

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002393

A two-phase flow regime in a wellbore where a small amount of liquid is dispersed as fine droplets within a continuous gas phase. This occurs at high gas velocities and low liquid loading, typically in gas wells producing small amounts of condensate or water. Mist flow is an efficient transport mechanism for liquids, preventing their accumulation in the wellbore.
