Mosquito bill

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002428

A small-diameter tube fitted at the bottom of a sucker rod pump inside the gas anchor, connected to the pump intake. Gas separates through the anchor's perforations and rises in the annulus, while the tube draws liquid from the base of the anchor up to the pump, so the pump takes in fluid with little or no gas. It differs from a mud anchor, which is only a sump joint that collects sediment below the pump.
