Pumpoff
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003007
A condition in a rod-pumped well where the pump has lifted all available fluid from the wellbore, causing the pump to operate with little or no fluid intake. This leads to inefficient operation, increased wear on pump components, and potential damage. Pumpoff controllers are used to detect this state and shut down the pump temporarily.
