Electric submersible pump
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001264
A downhole artificial lift system consisting of a motor, protector, intake, and pump stages, all designed to operate submerged in the wellbore fluid. The pump boosts the fluid from the reservoir to the surface, especially in wells with low reservoir pressure or high water cut. ESPs are widely used in high-volume production applications.
