Neutralizing solution

A chemical solution used to adjust the pH of a fluid, often to bring it closer to a neutral value of 7. In well treatments, it is applied after acidizing to stop the corrosive action of residual acid and prevent damage to tubulars or the formation. Common neutralizing agents include sodium carbonate or ammonium hydroxide.
