Perforate overbalanced
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002733
To create perforations in a wellbore while the pressure within the wellbore is intentionally maintained higher than the reservoir pressure. This overbalance prevents reservoir fluids from flowing into the wellbore during the perforating operation. The technique is applied to control formation fluid influx and manage wellbore stability.
