Perforate

To create holes through the casing, cement, and into the reservoir rock of a wellbore, establishing a flow path for hydrocarbons to enter the well. This process uses shaped explosive charges or abrasive jets to penetrate the wellbore completion. Perforations are typically spaced and phased to maximize reservoir contact and production efficiency.
