Plugging material

Any substance added to a drilling fluid to seal off permeable formations or lost circulation zones in the wellbore. These materials can be fibrous, granular, or flaky, and they work by bridging across fractures or pores to form a low-permeability barrier. Common examples include mica, nut shells, and cellulosic fibers.
